YOURSAY ‘Let all parties in Pakatan take note such behaviour is unacceptable.’

‘Hadi, how many more like Zuhdi are there?’

PAS - Punish Zuhdi Jiminy Qrikert: Jettison PAS from Pakatan Rakyat. It is better to lose some state seats than to lose the entire state of Selangor to Umno. Even if PAS takes all 15 seats and teams up with Umno’s 12 seats, they will still be two short in the 56-seat state assembly. There is no way PAS can retain all 15 seats in GE14 simply because they will lose all non-Muslim support while a sizable number of Malays will also reject them. It is better to hand all 15 PAS seats to PKR to contest in a three-cornered fight with PAS and Umno.

With all that has happened over the past months and with PAS rearing its ugly extremist head, it is unlikely that Pakatan will form the central government in the next 10 to 15 years.

DSAI (Anwar Ibrahim) will not be PM, so it is now in the best interest of the rakyat for PKR and DAP to go it alone and concentrate on retaining Selangor and Penang while building their opposition strength in the other states for a future challenge against Umno-BN.

Gerard Lourdesamy: PAS central committee member Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki ought to be sacked from the party for his racist tirade against the non-Malays/Muslims. His heart is not in Islam but with Umno, Perkasa and Isma. So why pretend?

There is no greater sin than duplicity and false witness. Why should PAS be acceptable to non-Malay/Muslims voters after this episode?

I rather accept Umno’s well-moderated policy of discontent among all races and religions and its benign Islamic policies premised on hypocrisy than PAS’ pious platitudes about justice, fairness, tolerance and fraternity with non-Muslims when in reality its leaders are imbued with hate and contempt for minorities.

Is this the face of PAS’ version of Islam? I am shocked that such views can be held by persons professing to be good and pious Muslims and they have sought to express their views so freely in public.

Unspin: The simple answer to Pandan MP and PKR leader Rafizi Ramli’s question on whether there are more Zuhdis in PAS is this: There is an uncountable number of Zuhdis in PAS and the whole of Malaysia for that matter.

This is the sad reality of Malaysian politics where a lot of Malays are conditioned to feel insecure and under siege all the time.

Watchtower: Are there anymore honourable, principled leaders these days? Our people were hoping for some of them to come from the Pakatan, now this?

Honestly, the problem should have been solved internally. The Selangor MB should resign, why linger on when your party has decided to remove you? The harder you fight it, the further you will fall from grace.

PAS, you have a lot of explanation to do. We don’t trust you anymore after what has been revealed this far. Please redeem your honour.

Myop101: Whatever the sandiwara we see now, I have made up my mind. If PAS puts up a candidate, I would choose not to vote for that candidate.

It is easy to laugh at the 47% as and when we see policies implemented by BN-led government such as toll hikes, petrol hikes, car price hikes, GST (Goods and Services Tax), etc, but ask yourselves what about the rest of the 53% who voted for Pakatan?

Shouldn’t we be laughing at ourselves too over such antics from PAS? Perhaps I might consider voting those who are known moderates from PAS but there are so few of them. What a shame indeed.

Myrights: Unfortunately, if this type of conversation is so liberally discussed in a WhatsApp group, to me, it means that majority if not all share the same opinion and have had similar discussions like this in the past.

The only contention I see is some don’t want to work with Umno and some want to. But, as far as the racist mentality, about pushing out DAP and sidelining non-Muslims/non-Malays, I  am afraid that it didn’t appear to be seriously questioned by PAS leaders in the mobile messaging app group.

Fair Play: Rafizi, the truth is that right-thinking Malaysians from the non-Muslim communities felt betrayed and they are deeply hurt. Time and again, PAS has proven itself as a partner you couldn’t trust.

Seriously, I think PKR and DAP should do some soul searching and even stride out on their own. Moderate PAS leaders the likes of Mohamad Sabu, Khalid Samad, to name a few, might emerge as towering Malaysians should they think it would be better to work with PKR and DAP to build the nation that the right-thinking rakyat have been dreaming all these years.

Let’s hope the dream is not over, that this is just minor detour before the parties go back to their original path.

Malaccan: How many more Zuhdis are in PAS is something non-Muslims and also Muslims want to know.

Pakatan base their struggle on a platform of fair and just treatment for all, and they must expose and oust top leaders who harbour such slanted views from its midst. No doubt certain leeway must be given in the case of private discussions where ideas are freely expressed and not for public consumption.

Leaving Pakatan is not the main issue as it is PAS’ right to consider all options, but Zuhdi’s Perkasa-like views and his glee at wanting to put non-Muslims and the church under his foot is highly dangerous.

Left untreated, this disease of the mind and soul will infect others and influence Pakatan. Let all parties in Pakatan take note that such behaviour is utterly unacceptable.

Quigonbond: Rafizi is right. PAS is clearly two faced not just on Selangor, but way before this with hudud. It’s ironic that even though MCA is shooting in the dark, they actually score this time.

Pakatan must do the right thing and reject the ulamas in PAS. I’d like to see them join Umno. I want to see how other BN parties are going to deal with this faction of PAS.

If that faction of PAS tones down their hudud stand after joining forces with Umno, we know that they are not only two faced, but are cynical opportunists.

I applaud what PKR is trying to do. In cleaning up their internal mess, they have also unearthed the corruption within PAS.
