YOURSAY ‘The sultan met with Hadi Awang but refused to meet Wan Azizah.’

PAS reveals Azmin mooted after Hadi met sultan

PKR - Hadi-Sultan Ferdtan: What? PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang had an audience with the sultan?

When PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who has the support of the majority of state representatives, requested for an audience with the sultan and she was snubbed? What game is the palace playing?

We dared not go further as Malaysia’s ‘Damocles sword of sedition’ is ever present to silent critics.

How can a ‘referee’ is seen to be taking sides? This may not be true but public perception may be different. We call upon the palace royal council to clear the air otherwise this perception may damage the prestige of the sultan.

Abasir: More questions for Abdul Hadi (and PAS). Who initiated this meeting? Was it you or was it the sultan? After the date and time were set, did you take steps to ensure no one in the coalition had even an inkling of the intrigue afoot?

When the clandestine meeting was over, did it trouble your conscience that you had taken part in something no man of integrity would? Is the concept of ‘trust’ and ‘betrayal of trust’ known to you? Or is it something alien to your faith?

Did you ever believe in your slogan ‘PAS for All’ or was it merely a cheap, three-word trick to get votes from gullible, trusting voters, especially non-Muslims? Have you heard of the Latin line ‘Cuculus Non Facit Monachum”? If you haven’t go look it up.

MalaysianVoter; Umno did the same thing. It tried to meet separately with DAP leader Lim it Siang and PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim immediately after the GE13, trying to split the opposition.

But Pakatan leaders always insisted that representatives all three parties – PKR, DAP and PAS – attend such meetings. Why? To avoid tihs kind of situation. PAS should avoid meeting the sultan quietly behind their partners.

This approach creates more distrust than trust, and PAS should know that. Now PAS is paying the price, struggling hard to explain itself, and in so doing dragging the sultan into the mud.

Amoda: So HRH (His Royal Highness) called Abdul Hadi for an audience. Even if HRH made it clear that he is not in favour of Kak Wan to be the MB, shouldn’t Abdul Hadi have respectfully advised HRH that it is up to the people of Selangor to propose who they want to be their MB?

After all, with due respect to HRH, what we have is a constitutional monarchy, don’t we? And I agree with Abasir that Abdul Hadi should have at the very least informed his Pakatan counterparts of his meeting with the sultan.

Again this clearly shows his contempt of the other parties in Pakatan. You can bet your last sen I’ll never vote for PAS again.

Godbless: The sultan met with Hadi Awang and Khalid, but refused to meet Wan Azizah, why? Just because she is a woman?

Anonymous_1388755032: Abdul Hadi has no integrity as evidenced after GE12, when he tried to form a unity government with Umno. It is fine if he sees the sultan but he has no business discussing Selangor state issues without the consensus of his Pakatan colleagues.

Abdul Hadi cannot be trusted anymore and he is going to be the biggest cause of PAS facing a massive backlash from Pakatan supporters.

Anthony Chan: PAS changed their decision because not all PAS Selangor state assembly men/women support their plan to form the state government with Umno. If not for the two PAS Adun (state assembly representatives), their plan would have materialised.

Malaysian 53: Why did Abdul Hadi not reveal his meeting with the Sultan when he met with PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim or in his Pakatan meeting?

Was it arranged by the Umno proxies sitting in the Royal Court. The sultan must be made to understand that it is not his prerogative to reject a candidate selected by the party or coalition in control of the State Assembly, a person who has all the qualifications and meets all the criteria to be the MB.

Adsertor: I have difficulty believing PAS Youth chief Suhaizan Kayak and PAS’ commitment to Pakatan.

The fact is that PAS believed they were the kingmaker and played their hand. Fortunately we have two of their assemblypersons who are true to the aspiration of the people and the mandate given to them. Or else we would have PAS-Umno union in Selangor.

Unspin: This is not the time to talk about democratic principles simply because there is not one to start off with.

If the sultan rejects Azizah without an alternative candidate, the threat of fresh elections is very real. When that happened, we can challenge it at the Federal Court but the outcome will be as sure as the sun will rise in the east tomorrow morning.

Despite our reservations whether PAS is sincere (after their awful behaviour), we should give them the benefit of the doubt to ensure that the wishes of the people in Selangor in the last election are respected.

Appum: I think PAS should just shut up now and like I said, we should move forward. PKR deputy president Azmin Ali has already stated his stand. From zero he has become hero.
He can one day be a good leader  when the opportunity arises. He just have to be a bit more patient and redeem people’s trust and faith.

Desperate for Change: Wan Azizah has the majority vote.  Whether the MB is a woman or the wife of Anwar or an OKU (disabled person) or someone of Indonesian descent (like Khir Toyo), what is important is that Azizah has the majority.  The sultan should recognise her.

Eeoke: I’m confused. How can Abdul Hadi have a privilege of meeting sultan when other Pakatan leaders can’t? Why must sultan listen to PAS and not PKR?
