YOURSAY ‘Najib knows Dr M is not going to give up and will only up the ante.’

Dr M throwing everything but the kitchen sink

Mahathir: Najib rebuts nothing on Altantuya

yrsaynajibnotansweeringquestions Abasir: An innocent man will go all out to prove his innocence and do so repeatedly if need be. He will be open to all questions and provide every scintilla of evidence to support his case.

Conversely, a guilty one will be averse to any form of questioning; he will go all out to ensure that he is never put in a position where he is forced to answer; he will avoid being included in any inquiry; he will erase, eliminate, hide anyone or anything that links him to the crime.

He will issue bare and repeated denials and even invoke the name of God, but he will never ever allow anyone to question him in a court of law even if the evidence, however fragmentary or circumstantial, leads to him as an actor in the crime.

Wg321: Najib can no longer think straight. Mahathir did not accuse Najib of murdering Altantuya Shaariibuu.

All he wants to know is who ordered Najib’s former bodyguards Azilah Hadri and Sirul Azhar Umar to shoot and blew Altantuya to high heaven with C4 explosives.

Najib seems to give irrelevant answers, time and again. For example, when Mahathir asks “who ordered Sirul to shoot Altantuya?” the answer is “I have sworn in the mosque (sumpah laknat) that I did not know Altantuya”.

Nobody is interested whether Najib knew Altantuya. We are interested to know who ordered Sirul to shoot Altantuya, and thus the motive for the shooting.

Why is Najib so jittery? Every time the name “Altantuya” is mentioned, he seems to have nightmares.

Little Sparrow: Why is Najib so adamantly disinterested in knowing who ordered the killing? The whole world is interested in finding out the truth but Najib.

Is it too difficult for the government to reopen the case? We have a super-efficient inspector-general of police (IGP) and the police force.

So why the hesitation to reopen the case and find out the mastermind behind the murder? Doesn’t Najib want to know or he just couldn’t care less and let Azilah and Sirul die in vain?

TC Chan: Najib’s alleged involvement in the Altantuya case was inferred from day one. To say that it is only now raised eight years later is a little disingenuous.

The criminal trial only found the two guilty of murder. The motive for them to murder her was never established.

To the public, it looks like a cover-up. But can you blame them? Why would two special unit police officers killed a complete stranger and blew her to bits? It’s a valid question to ask.

Dr M on ‘silly’ Najib and 1MDB robbery

Vgeorgemy: We have been shouting for a while that our nation is being robbed by a corrupt regime. The security apparatus charged us with sedition and others filed multimillion ringgit legal suits to silence us.

One of the MPs was suspended (Padang Serai MP N Surendran) when he said Parliament is nothing but a rubber stamp of executive, and this was confirmed by the Dewan Rakyat speaker himself (Pandikar Amin Mulia) a few days ago.

We thought that the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue is a simple case of reviewing of the balance sheet of the company to identify the corresponding entries in the asset side for its loans amounting to RM42 billion.

But former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad says that it is not the case. It is much more than that. How complicated can the 1MDB account be? Why no one in the regime is able to tell us in simple language the components of the RM42 billion debt?

Why the delay? Give us the breakdown while we wait for the auditor-general to come out with his detailed report.

SteveOh: Dr M is absolutely spot on. He is in fact at his mercurial best and a credit to the cause for government accountability.

There is too much monkey business going on and Dr M is saying the right things in this instance. It took 22 years for Dr M to cause the mystery of the missing RM100 billion, but only a fraction of the time for the creation of the 1MDB RM42 billion debt.

RM42 billion is a lot of money to lose in three years, especially for a country like Malaysia where many Malaysians still live below the poverty line.

Vent: It sure is the start of the silly season when Mahathir presents himself as the saviour of the nation. I guess he isn’t familiar with this.

People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones, although granted Najib’s is much thinner.

WDA: There is no doubt that the gloves are off. Najib knows Mahathir is not going to give up and will only up the ante until he steps down.

The PM is also aware that the only way to silence the former premier and hold on to his post is to take drastic action, which may include threatening to prosecute Dr M’s sons or even Dr M himself for possible past misdeeds.

Najib knows it is a risky move but he may have no choice. For the rest of us, just sit back, pass the popcorn and enjoy the fireworks. This is going to be explosive.
