‘Ku Nan wouldn’t have to plead for votes if he’s doing things right’

Ku Nan urges Cheras voters to ‘surprise’ DAP in GE14

yrsaykunanpleadingforvotesyour say1Clever Voter: Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor (Ku Nan) can claim all the credit he wants, but these are all paid for through the rates and taxes from the hardworking people of the capital city.

Indeed, if you were to add up the city’s coffers, the Kuala Lumpur residents would be short-changed. Compared to local governments in Selangor and Penang, he needs to ask – are we getting value for money?

Next, he should also ask voters the value of their votes compared to Putrajaya. A true test is that he should volunteer and stand head-to-head against DAP in one of the KL parliamentary seats – Cheras, Kepong or Seputeh.

Wake Up: Ku Nan, we don’t have to plead to the people if we are doing things right. We should let the people decide by just telling the truth and working for the people.

Anonymous #03815719: Is Kenduri 1Wilayah Persekutuan paid for by taxpayers’ money or BN’s funds?

If it is from taxpayers’ money, then DAP should lodge a complaint with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Tikusmati: You think the people of Cheras are that cheap and without dignity? Allegedly using taxpayers’ money to seek votes.

Maybe some of the residents should take him for a walk and point out all the shortcomings of his ministry. PM, beware, some are doing more damage to you than you have done to yourself.

Mushiro: Tengku Adnan said he gave instructions to Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to address issues of traffic congestion, particularly at Bulatan Cheras and connecting areas.

Why only now? The traffic congestion has been there for years.

It is also disappointing that Tengku Adnan is still only giving pledges to improve but has nothing to show what he has achieved in improving KL so far.

Tengku Adnan has seemingly done nothing to improve the traffic jams, the parking problems, the issues of vagrants and the homeless, not enough public toilets, clogged drains leading to floods during rains, etc.

Tengku Adnan has failed in Putrajaya, too, with poor maintenance of walkways, broken tiles and parking problems, which give a bad impression to any visitors.

Anonymous_40f4: Tengku Adnan should go over to Selangor and see how the Pakatan Harapan government has nearly wiped out red tape and corruption.

In KL under DBKL, even a budget hotel licence renewal may take more than a year to renew, with many excuses being given. If you are unlucky, you may even not get the renewal. In Selangor, you can renew your licence on the spot, they even offer you a three-year licence to cut red tape and corruption.

In DBKL, even a simple dog licence has become difficult to renew, especially if you can’t afford a computer and Internet connection or if you are uneducated or too old. DBKL also has wasted millions on white elephant projects, which are of no use to the people.

The FT minister’s post is a waste of taxpayers’ money. Tengku Adnan is purely playing politics and allegedly dishing out DBKL projects to cronies. The ‘datuk bandar’ (mayor) should be enough to manage DBKL. Tengku Adnan and his deputy should be sacked.

Launching PPR (People’s Housing Project) low-cost flats is not Tengku Adnan’s work. It should be done by the ‘datuk bandar’ along with Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai.

FellowMalaysian: I would like to remind Ku Nan of an important fact about contesting in the Cheras seat since he is behaving like a ‘novice’ FT minister.

Even MCA ‘caught no wind’ in the past two elections, to use a Chinese lingo. Do you think Cheras Umno will give DAP a credible fight?

I challenge Cheras Umno chief Syed Ali Al-Habshee to stand against Tan Kok Wai in GE14 and I suspect he may lose his sarong.

RCZ: This man’s idea of politics is bizarre. MCA lost because it is seen as Umno’s ‘running dog’. Umno is seen as corrupt and has corrupt leaders.

Umno is the stone dragging MCA and the entire country to the ground. The people can see this and voted for a better and more honest party.

Then Ku Nan comes along and blames MCA. Umno is truly living under a rock and has no idea why they are ‘hated’.

As for MCA, carry on being Umno’s ‘stooges’. According to Umno, they don’t need a wake-up call. You do, MCA.

Cops: Injured inmate fell in the toilet, not beaten

Old Timer: It appears that the toilets in prison must be a very dangerous place to visit. One fall and you end up in the intensive care unit (ICU).

It is also a bacteria- and virus-filled place that even toe nails can get infected so badly that they have to be removed. If there is truth to this, why don’t they make the prison a safer and more hygienic place?

Ex-Pj: It seems that many people in police custody have a habit of falling down in the toilet and losing their toenails from rapidly spreading infections.

Odysseus: So they removed prisoner Chandran Muniandy’s toenails due to skin infection? Please tell us how many toenails were removed and who was the smart doctor who called for that procedure.

Angel: If it is true, why didn’t they call the parents to inform them he had fallen in the toilet?

And when was the toenail taken out – at the same time when he fell in the toilet or at another time? Is there CCTV footage to show these two events?

Gerard Lourdesamy: Yes, did the police inform the family about his fall in the toilet? Did they inform the family about his skin disease that required his toenails to be removed? It seems that only when the prisoner had to be rushed to the ICU that the Prisons Department informed the family.

Why the delay? A prisoner also has his rights, and one of them is not to die in custody due to deliberate infliction of extrajudicial punishment or neglect.

Peacemaker: There will be an internal investigation by internal people against internal people. Guess what? The outcome is a foregone conclusion.

FairMind: Why waste time arguing? Just get a full body examination of the victim from an independent doctor and the truth will prevail on whether the head injury, toe nail removal and bruises on other parts of the body are consistent with what the authority has claimed – an accidental fall in the toilet as well as skin disease.
