Report: Felda risks losing prime land in ‘dubious transaction’

Vijay47: Felda and foul funds as usual. Once again, we are reminded of the criminal irresponsibility and greed carried out by those entrusted with the management of public sector commercial entities.

Where this prime land is concerned, the stink pervades to the high heavens right from the very start. Who were the lawyers who drafted the agreement under which the main developer was granted power of attorney?

It appears that incredibly, there were no cautionary restrictions placed and the company could do as it pleased, which it did.

Regarding the transfer of land valued at RM270 million, we now have the amazing spectacle of nobody seeming to know who was responsible! Was this a costly oversight or deliberate?

The Felda board of directors was notified only three months later in September 2014 and asked to give approval retrospectively. Yet this most unusual arrangement did not ring alarm bells, and no one took protective action for two years, by which time the horse had bolted the stables.

Felda, FGV, Mara, all seem to be the same and the only conclusion we can draw is that they are under the stewardship of parasites and crooks without a care in the world, with the chairperson now piously boasting that a police report has been made. In December 2017!

In any other country, the whole bunch would have been thrown into jail but in Malaysia, calling for action would be seen as an attack on race and religion.

Clever Voter: There would be no end to dubious practices as long as the establishment is part of this, directly or indirectly.

The culture of accountability will not work so long as such behaviour is condoned and rewarded. Catch the head, maybe that may work?

Rick Teo: We are unearthing one scandal one after another. When will it end?

Felda under Umno was built by the country’s second prime minister Abdul Razak Hussein and now his son is destroying it bit by bit.

That’s how Umno has apparently milked the country dry – by enriching themselves at the expense of the Malays.

Paul Warren: So, what is wrong with this? If everything that happened in 1MDB is acceptable to the Umno general assembly, this is nothing.

It’s the same kind of plunder which they should all support, isn’t it? And this is only RM270 million, so what?

Police report lodged against land developer, Felda says

Salvage Malaysia: The power of attorney (PA) will normally spell out the scope it is allowed to cover.

Does the PA allow them to transfer the land to themselves? If yes, then the entire Felda board should go to jail.

Anonymous 242641505703475: Felda chairperson Shahrir Samad is doing the right thing.

The recovery of Felda land is of paramount importance. He must get it back. The land belongs to Felda. Illegal transfer of property is wrong, whichever way you look at it.

As the saying goes, “Render unto Caesar the thing that is Caesar’s; and unto God that is God’s.”

Stealing somebody’s property is wrong, legally and morally. I salute Shahrir for his pursuit of recovering the land.

PM vows action on Felda land scandal

Bluemountains: Wow! PM Najib Razak’s reaction was indeed super-fast. However, I am wondering why Najib had not reacted in a similar manner when it involves the financial fraud in 1MDB and SRC International.

As a matter of fact, we appear to be disinterested in nailing the culprits even though we have lost a humongous amount of money, unlike our neighbour down south.

Someonroutthere: Wait a minute, Najib also boasted of investigation when the 1MDB scandal broke.

After that, he removed the attorney-general, quashed the special committee handling the investigation. Then he ‘OSAed’ all the investigation reports and files.

Everything was done to allegedly stifle the evidence surrounding the case. Surely, Felda folks cannot believe this man after so much of their blood, sweat and tears have been spilt.

Tulancheow:  Yes, it is the same explanation given in the 1MDB scandal. “We will investigate this matter thoroughly.”

But up till now, no person has been charged for the crimes of misappropriation, including potentially himself.

Righteousness4all: How can such a deal go unnoticed by the board of directors. This is pure nonsense. What about the annual audited accounts?

Now everyone, including the PM, says this and that, and want to do this and that. Come on, you think the rakyat are stupid?

Watan: If I could not walk straight, I can’t really ask others to walk straight.

Similarly, if you are preaching holiness time and again, you will think not only what you say is holy, you will actually believe your action is holy, too, when most of the time they are not.
