YOURSAY | ‘Stupidity cannot be forgiven because it can be prevented.’

Spot on, Marina, it’s idiots running countries who roil markets

Marina: Idiotic leaders affect markets, not eloping daughters

yrsaymarinaspotonyoursay-EnglishCommentable: PM Najib Razak has a handful of ministers, including Salleh Said Keruak who is so overzealous in protecting, supporting and covering up for his boss that he no longer has the moral compass to say what is right. So he ends up saying all the stupid things.

Marina Mahathir is absolutely right; trivial domestic issues do not cause regional markets to dip. The sooner the people of this country come to grips on the root cause of the problem, the better.

We have to send our message to those in power in one loud voice, that we are sick and tired of all the looney excuses, the finger pointing at the opposition, the moronic ideas to cover up, the unconvincing unilateral declaration of innocence, and the nonsensical spinning of lies disguised as facts.

If these ministers cannot handle the truth, please resign and spare the country from its misery.

Unafraid: Salleh typifies the low quality of ministers we have in the cabinet. They have literally only two neurons in their brains and have totally no class. They speak nonsense most of the time.

But what really makes them most despicable is the stupid and blind manner in which they support a blatantly corrupt regime.

These guys are paid to do a job and they just do it without any moral conscience. They are nothing more than political mercenaries.

What an insult to the high office of a minister who is supposed to serve the needs of the rakyat.

Cogito Ergo Sum: Stupidity cannot be forgiven because it can be prevented.

6th Generation Immigrant: Corruption and donation rumours surrounding the PM can make the market crash. Idiotic ministers blindly supporting a tainted leader can make the market crash.

Lies after lies can make the market crash. Using the administrative arms of the country without according convention of the respect for separation of powers can make market crash.

When all of the above are packaged into a government, the country will go to the dogs. However, eloping when it happens, is usually an expression of honesty, love and true commitment between two lovers no matter what the odds are.

These consenting adults are not breaking the law, so where’s the link to it being able to crash an institution. Salleh’s idiotic statement shall make Malaysia crash, not just the market.

Mojo Jojo: Never mind economic performance, financial volatility and political stability. All the market needs to know before whipping up into a frenzy is whether the daughter of a premier has eloped.

This is known as the Keruak Effect, which is a financial phenomenon studied in great depth by finance experts in Malaysia, but unknown to academics outside.

Salleh, you have outdone yourself once more.

Headhunter: Right on, Marina! Unfortunately for Malaysia, we seem to have a greater share of idiotic ministers than any other countries in the world. And the current bunch are world-class clowns.

Anonymous 2398161454293761: I wish a communication minister could at least learn some basic (very rudimentary) communication skills. A minister is expected to talk like a minister. Dignity, please.

Anonymous #13114320: Hahaha, the best news I have read today. Idiots don’t know when to open their mouths.

Talk nonsense and go viral, deputy minister warns politicians

Roguekiller: That’s right, Deputy Finance Minister Johari Abdul Ghani, talk sense and the truth, people will not pounce on you.

It is good to be truthful and honest and you will have your way. Twisting, spinning and lying would anger everybody.

I wish you could bring this to the attention of the PM and DPM. If you lied once, you would have to get readied many more lies to cover the first.

I guess you know who you were referring to; we know those ministers, deputies and politicians, though you did not mentioned names.

Mojo Jojo: “Johari however said one was free to talk nonsense if one wants to be popular.”

Okay, I think what you’re trying to say is that you have to speak nonsense in order to become popular.

So, BN politicians from the past and present spewed nonsense for people to like them? Perhaps a hand or two might make the nonsense more palatable, no?

Anonymous #70881335: Finally, Johari is talking sense.

Speaking Sense: But having to stop talking nonsense would be a real challenge for some Umno politicians – it would require new brains in many cases.
